Should Same-Sex marriages be allowed?
I totally understand both sides of the argument, however I have to agree that same sex marriages should be allowed. 1st side- Sure, everyone should have free rights, and they should be able to marry whoever they want. 2nd side- I understand that according to Christian beliefs, which have molded what is today our society, men were created to be with women, and women were created to be with men, and to continue on the family. I'll start with the first point: Like I said, everyone should be able to marry whoever. But the reasons that are stopping this right are values based on Christianity. Well, isn't that unfair to make people abide by laws based on a voluntary religion? What about people with no religion? Do they still have to abide by these laws, just because the majority of the population decides to take part in Christianity? And even if they were Christian, and they couldn't marry someone of the opposite sex because of homosexuality, isn't their god an accepting and forviging god who will accept the person for who they are? After all he "loves every single one of us". Think about that. Now for point two: I understand that a large percentage of the population would be upset if same-sex marriages were allowed, because its "not the way its supposed to be". I can see where these people are coming from, but many people don't have reason behind their prejudice. The large piece of the world that is against same-sex marriage have created a bias, and now that they have chosen their opinion, they refuse to listen from different perspectives. Perhaps if these people could just realize that there are other opinions and look towards this issue with an open mind, then maybe society can work something out. As for now, I guess those who are too stubborn to know any better, and those who really have a strongly based opinion, will have to just keep fighting for what they believe is "right" What do you think?

Like Russell Peters says to India. They have an over population crisis over there, its okay to have a few gays.

I agree with same sex marriage it's none of my business if they're gay,bi,or lesbian.I'm no homophobe because I have a friend that's gay and a friend that's lesbian.No one should take advantage of being together with someone they love.

Your all open minded I suppose now try to convince this town of 60% conservative loving meno's who feel they are right. Just like the United states we are on the way to equal rights just now we have these bullocks of Conservative party running our country whom think its their civil duty to the wholy-overchristian-controlling conservatives of this noble land to make every other person not them miserable. I can't believe they wanted to rebuke the same sex marriage legislation like how friggin insane we are known for acception of all. Not that i agree with some policies.... stupid justice system is so lame here..

this debate thng s kinda gay t's self.... i dont even see y it matters 2 any1 whether or not a bunch of gay ppl get married... they already live like they're married... y can't teh law jus leave them all alone an let em get married already... isn't marrage supposed to be lik a major pain anyway... if they really wan ta... let em suffer

i agree its disgusting!but it should be allowed.who knows:with a another mom it could be better...or with another dad it could be better....i rather have no parents at all
